Premiere of Bridgerton Season 3: A Regal Ride into Romance
It’s mid-May, which means the premiere of Bridgerton season 3 is just a short carriage ride away. The Netflix series, known for its socialites, scandals, and sizzling hot romances, is turning its focus to Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington, affectionately known as “Polin.”
Based on Julia Quinn’s Bridgerton book series, Netflix’s immensely popular Regency-era show delves into the lives and love stories of the fictional Bridgerton siblings. The third season breaks away from the sequential order of Quinn’s novels, bypassing Benedict’s story to spotlight Colin’s journey based on the fourth book. However, this deviation doesn’t exclude future exploration of Benedict’s narrative. While the previous season showcased Anthony and Kate’s enemies-to-lovers arc, this season might see Polin’s transition from close friends to something more.
The first part of Bridgerton season 3 is set to premiere on Netflix, following months of anticipation. Shonda Rhimes’ historical romance series, now in its third season, will narrate the love story between Colin Bridgerton (played by Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington (played by Nicola Coughlan).
It was previously revealed that Penelope was Lady Whistledown, the anonymous gossip writer of the town, who chronicled the romances between Daphne Bridgerton (played by Phoebe Dynevor) and Simon Basset (played by Regé-Jean Page), as well as Kate Sharma (played by Simone Ashley) and Anthony Bridgerton (played by Jonathan Bailey).
In this third season, Penelope will face the aftermath of overhearing Colin, her long-time crush, stating he would never court her, and the subsequent fallout with her best friend, Eloise Bridgerton (played by Claudia Jessie).
