WWE Universe Mourns as Former Champion Bray Wyatt Dies at 36

New Delhi : Former WWE champion Bray Wyatt, whose real name was Windham Rotunda, has sadly passed away at the age of 36. The announcement was made by Chief Content Officer Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque on social media. Wyatt had been absent from WWE TV since February due to a believed life-threatening illness, after reports hinted at his imminent return to the wrestling ring.

A Career Marked by Innovation and Darkness

Bray Wyatt’s wrestling journey began in 2009 when he signed with WWE’s developmental talent program. He made his way to the main roster in 2010 as ‘Husky Harris’ as part of the group called ‘The Nexus’. However, it was in 2014 that his career took a significant turn with the debut of ‘The Wyatt Family’, a dark and twisted stable featuring Luke Harper and Erick Rowan.

Wyatt’s character evolved over the years, and he introduced the eerie alter-ego ‘The Fiend’. This supernatural persona, complete with a horror mask, became a polarizing figure on WWE TV. Alongside ‘The Fiend’, Wyatt hosted the kid-friendly segment ‘The Firefly Funhouse’, showcasing his versatility and creativity.

Family Legacy and Involvement in Wrestling

Windham Rotunda came from a rich wrestling background. His grandfather Robert Windham, known as ‘Blackjack Mulligan’, and father Mike Rotunda, aka Irwin R. Schyster, were prominent wrestlers in their eras. Even his uncles, Barry and Kendall Windham, carried on the family tradition. His brother, Taylor Michael Rotunda, wrestled as Bo Dallas in WWE from 2008 to 2021.
