Major Highway Collapse in Philadelphia After Fire Underneath

New Delhi (India) :Philadelphia’s Northbound I-95 Closed Indefinitely After Collapse- A portion of northbound I-95 in Philadelphia has experienced a collapse due to a fire that erupted beneath the highway, as reported by Philadelphia officials on Sunday morning. During a news conference, Derek Bowmer, battalion chief for the Philadelphia Fire Department, stated that the collapse occurred on the northbound side, and the southbound side of the highway was also affected by intense fire. The underpass appeared to have sustained significant heat and fire damage.

Firefighters are currently engaged in battling the blaze, according to Bowmer. Explosions in the vicinity of the highway collapse were likely triggered by the runoff of fuel or gas lines that may have been compromised during the incident. Bowmer noted that fire was emanating from manholes in the area.

As a result, the affected area of the highway has been closed in both directions, and the fire is now under control, as confirmed by Sarah Peterson, the communications director of the mayor’s office.
