Train shooting: RPF constable kills 4, arrested
Mumbai : A Railway Protection Force (RPF) constable, Dhananjay Yadav, shot and killed three passengers and a senior officer on board a Mumbai-bound train on July 31, 2023. The constable was reportedly upset over being transferred to a new post. He has been arrested and is being questioned by the police.
The incident took place on the Hazrat Nizamuddin-Mumbai CSMT Duronto Express at around 10:30 AM. The constable, who was armed with a service revolver, opened fire on the passengers after an argument. The three passengers who were killed were identified as Suresh Kumar, Rahul Singh, and Mukesh Kumar. The senior officer who was killed was identified as Sub-Inspector Rajesh Kumar.
