Located in Kigali, Rwanda, the luxury hotel known as Hope Hostel is spread across two and a half acres and stands four stories tall. It features four lush green fields and offers amenities such as watching Euro Cup football matches on a big screen for incoming travelers. Additionally, asylum seekers residing here can also play football on the hotel grounds. Moreover, the hotel boasts basketball and volleyball courts. Britain has already sent the first individual seeking shelter under this plan to Rwanda on May 1.

Each room in the hotel is equipped with two beds, a wardrobe, and a desk. Additionally, arrangements have been made in the canteen for residents to watch matches during meal times.

Residents staying here will receive three meals a day in the canteen, at no cost, and they can also cook their own meals in the external kitchen area, equipped with two gas burners.

The hotel features two computer areas, each equipped with four PCs, allowing residents to contact their families via free Wi-Fi.

Hope Hostel is among Africa’s top range of hotels, with prayer rooms on the third and fourth floors.

The hotel comprises 50 rooms, accommodating 100 people, with a staff of 42, including 11 security guards. Ismael Bakina, the director of the company managing the hotel, said, “We are ready for asylum seekers who come here; they will be impressed with our service.”

Originally built for genocide orphans, the building of Hope Hostel was formerly known as the Association of Student Survivors of Genocide Hostel. It was constructed to provide safe housing for 190 youths orphaned in the 1994 genocide, during which 800,000 Tutsis were killed.

Britain will send 52,000 individuals to Rwanda, including five Indians. The number of individuals arriving in Britain by crossing the English Channel surpassed 52,000 by April 2024, including over 5,000 Indians. Those awaiting relocation to Rwanda fear being caught by Britain and sent to Rwanda. Consequently, asylum seekers are fleeing Britain, spending thousands of euros on luxury cruise tickets to Ireland. The number of tents belonging to illegal immigrants between Mount Street Bridge and the bridge has doubled.
